COOKIE POLICY
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how The Change Compass (Change Compass Pty Ltd) (“Change Compass”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on thechangecompass.com and related marketing pages (the “Site”). It describes what these technologies are, which ones we use and why, and how you can control them.
This policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally. For our product terms, see the Customer Agreement. This policy covers our public website only; data processed inside the Change Compass application on behalf of our business customers is governed by the Customer Agreement and the relevant Data Processing Agreement.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner. We also use related technologies such as pixels, tags, local storage and session-recording scripts; in this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies”.
Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose services we use, such as analytics and advertising providers (third-party cookies). They may last only for your browsing session (session cookies) or remain until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).
2. How we use cookies
As a B2B software provider, we use cookies to keep the Site secure and working, to understand how prospective and existing business customers use our content, to improve the experience, and to measure the marketing that brings qualified visitors to us. We group the cookies we use into four categories:
| Category | Purpose | Providers | Typical duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core functions: security, load balancing, page routing, remembering your cookie choices, and account sign-in. | WordPress / Divi; Google sign-in | Session to ~1 year | Not required |
| Functional | Remember preferences and enable optional features such as live chat and embedded video. | Zoho SalesIQ live chat; video pop-up | Session to ~2 years | Required |
| Analytics & performance | Understand how the Site is used, including heatmaps and anonymised session replay, so we can improve it. | Google Analytics 4; Microsoft Clarity; Hotjar; Segment | Session to ~2 years | Required |
| Marketing & advertising | Measure advertising campaigns, attribute conversions such as demo requests, and show relevant Change Compass content on other platforms. | Google Ads / conversion tracking | Up to ~13 months | Required |
Durations shown are the providers’ standard values and are indicative; exact lifetimes can change as third parties update their services.
3. Third parties who set cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we rely on. These providers process data under their own privacy policies:
- Google (Analytics 4, Google Ads, Tag Manager, Site Kit) — policies.google.com/privacy
- Microsoft Clarity — privacy.microsoft.com
- Hotjar — hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy
- Segment (Twilio) — twilio.com/legal/privacy
- Zoho SalesIQ — zoho.com/privacy
4. Your choices and legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the Site cannot function without them; no consent is required for these. For all other cookies — functional, analytics and marketing — we ask for your consent before they are set, and they stay switched off until you accept.
You can accept all, reject all, or choose categories individually when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the “Manage cookie preferences” option in our cookie banner.
We operate Google Consent Mode so that Google tags respect your choice, and we honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one. Rejecting non-essential cookies will not stop you from using the Site; some optional features (such as live chat or embedded video) may be limited.
Depending on where you are located, your rights derive from the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation and the ePrivacy Directive, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (and the Australian Privacy Principles), and comparable laws such as US state privacy statutes. Consent is the legal basis for non-essential cookies; our legitimate interest in securing and operating the Site is the basis for strictly necessary cookies.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also control cookies directly in your browser — block or delete existing cookies, or set the browser to warn you before a cookie is stored. Instructions are available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our Site, the cookies we use, or the law change. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again.
7. Contact us
