COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how The Change Compass (Change Compass Pty Ltd) (“Change Compass”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on thechangecompass.com and related marketing pages (the “Site”). It describes what these technologies are, which ones we use and why, and how you can control them.

This policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally. For our product terms, see the Customer Agreement. This policy covers our public website only. Data processed inside the Change Compass application on behalf of our business customers is governed by the Customer Agreement and the relevant Data Processing Agreement.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner. We also use related technologies such as pixels, tags, local storage and session-recording scripts. In this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies”.

Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose services we use, such as analytics providers (third-party cookies). They may last only for your browsing session (session cookies) or remain until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).

2. How we use cookies

As a B2B software provider, we use cookies to keep the Site secure and working, to understand how prospective and existing business customers use our content, to improve the experience, and to measure the marketing that brings qualified visitors to us. The table below groups the cookies we use. Our cookie banner gives you three controls: strictly necessary (always on), analytics, and marketing. Functional tools such as live chat are treated as part of the always-on, essential set and are not switched off by the banner.

Category Purpose Providers and example cookies Typical duration When they load
Strictly necessary Core functions: security, page routing, remembering your cookie choices, account sign-in, and attributing an enquiry to the page that brought you to us. WordPress and Divi; our consent cookie (tcc_consent); Google sign-in (g_state); first and last touch attribution (tcc_ft, tcc_lt) Session to ~1 year Always active
Functional Run optional tools that help you talk to us, such as live chat and our chatbot. We treat these as part of the essential, always-on set. Zoho SalesIQ live chat (_zld*); HelpCrunch; AI Engine chatbot Session to ~1 year Always active
Analytics and performance Understand how the Site is used, including heatmaps and anonymised session replay, so we can improve it. Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*); Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk); Hotjar (_hj*) Up to ~2 years In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland: only with your consent. Elsewhere: on by default, switch off any time (Hotjar only with consent)
Marketing and advertising Measure marketing campaigns. We do not currently run advertising or use marketing cookies. None currently set Not applicable Only with your consent

Durations shown are the providers’ standard values and are indicative. Exact lifetimes can change as third parties update their services.

3. Third parties who set cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services we rely on. These providers process data under their own privacy policies:

4. Your choices and legal basis

Strictly necessary cookies, and the functional tools we treat as essential, are always active because the Site relies on them. Marketing cookies are only set with your consent, wherever you are. For analytics cookies it depends on where you are: in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before they are set, and they stay switched off until you accept. Everywhere else, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are on by default, and you can switch them off at any time by choosing Reject all or turning off Analytics in the banner. Hotjar is only loaded once you accept analytics, wherever you are.

When you first visit you can accept all, reject all, or choose analytics and marketing individually. You can change your choice at any time: use the “Manage cookie preferences” option in our cookie banner, or the “Cookie settings” link in the Site footer, which re-opens the banner.

We operate Google Consent Mode so that Google tags respect your choice, and we honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one. Rejecting analytics and marketing cookies will not stop you from using the Site.

Depending on where you are located, your rights derive from the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and the ePrivacy Directive, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (and the Australian Privacy Principles), and comparable laws such as US state privacy statutes. Consent is the legal basis for analytics and marketing cookies. Our legitimate interest in securing and operating the Site is the basis for strictly necessary and essential functional cookies.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also control cookies directly in your browser: block or delete existing cookies, or set the browser to warn you before a cookie is stored. Instructions are available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our Site, the cookies we use, or the law change. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again.
